Kelly-Ann Powers is currently a Certified Nursing Aide, and an aspiring marketing professional.
Kelly is passionate about helping the community and supporting local businesses and organizations. Identifying a need, she started reaching out to business owners and took on club and local business promotion. Kelly enjoys highlighting the products and services that the businesses provide while bringing people together. One of her favorite events to organize is the@_mundialito, which builds community while raising funds for scholarships, promoting local businesses and showcasing local talent. Taking photos, recording and editing videos, making decorations and event planning are some of Kelly's other interests. All of her different passions and experiences led her to launch her own photography and event planning business called@_kp_productions. In her spare time, Kelly can be found spending time with her dog, organizing something, or practicing her new hobby - painting.
Miellette McFarlane is an Oakland, California native and currently works remotely from Providence as a channel sales manager for Microsoft, supporting digital transformation in Financial Services enterprises. Miellette joined Microsoft in July 2020 after completing the full-time MBA program at Georgetown University.
Miellette initially moved to Providence in 2015 to join Governor Gina Raimondo's administration on the policy team. She then took a position at the RI Department of Labor & Training as a Grant Adviser for the Real Jobs Rhode Island program, and acted as Interim Director during her last 5 months at the DLT before leaving for graduate school. Prior to moving to RI, Miellette worked as an analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City. Miellette has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California Riverside and also completed a Global Economics study abroad program in Florianopolis, Brazil.
During her MBA, Miellette co-founded@mxrcocktails, a box cocktail kit company, in conjunction with her partner Michael’s pop-up cocktail business,@baspvd. MXR’s mission is to create community through connection and shared experience, one cocktail at a time. MXR allows you to become your very own bartender and turn your home into the newest bar in the neighborhood. Each box includes recipe cards and all the ingredients to make two sets of unique and delicious craft cocktails. All you need is your spirit.
Tatiana Baena was born in Medellin, Colombia, and migrated with her family to the United States, arriving in Central Falls at the age of 8. She has been serving as the Director of Enrichment Opportunities for the Central Falls School District for the past three years, writing and managing grants, creating partnerships and providing internships, out-of-school time enrichment, and other learning and growth opportunities to students in the district. Additionally, she is the lead of the family support efforts for the Pawtucket/Central Falls Beat Covid initiative, where she helps connect residents affected by the pandemic, to much needed resources.
Prior to her current position, she worked in US Congressman David Cicilline’s District Office, where she led services and policy efforts for women, Veterans, and youth, managed the Congressman's schedule, and was able to make important connections that will last a lifetime.
Tatiana has a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and has stayed active in the community by combining her love of soccer and service to organize the@_mundialito, a soccer tournament which brings community together, awards scholarships to Rhode Island student-athletes, showcases local talent, promotes local businesses and organizations. She is a member of the Central Falls Alumni Association's board of directors and is a newly elected City Councilperson in Central Falls.
A wearer of many hats, Tatiana is also an entrepreneur currently working on starting up a soccer store, and a consulting business to support local nonprofits, small businesses and individuals maximize their network and potential.
Michael was born in Providence and has lived in Pawtucket for most of his life. He is a full time special education teacher at Seekonk High School with South Coast Education Collaborative, whom he’s been with since graduating with his Bachelors in Science in Human Development and Family Planning from the University of Rhode Island in 2013. Upon graduating, Michael began coaching high school boys basketball with Burriville High School team and then another brief season with the boys basketball team at Charles E. Shea High School in Pawtucket, RI. In 2015 he took a job with Lutheran Social Services and moved to New York City where he discovered his passion for mixology and hospitality.
In 2018 started and founded @baspvd a fully licensed and insured cocktail catering company that aims to educate and familiarize an underrepresented demographic in the cocktail culture. Using storytelling as a gateway to mixology in hopes that they can provide an alternative to the greater providence nightlife. They host pop ups in various spaces in the city and establish relationships with restaurants and bars while doing so. At BAS he is the head bartender and creative director. Michael also helped co-found @mxrcocktails with his partner and our other team member, Miellette McFarlane.
